It was a good party, reflected Effie, even though Piggy had passed out in the broom cupboard and Aunt Pansy had sat in a corner all evening, listening to ‘Classic FYM’, as she insisted on calling it, on her ‘Seedy Walker’.

But hark! Effie could hear a purposeful footstep in the hall. Bounder must have returned.

Horrors! It was only Piggy, stripped for action, wearing nothing but a corn plaster.
